Over time, Magic Box Photography has grown alongside the families I photograph. In recent years, I have photographed high school seniors I once photographed as newborns, sometimes even before they were born. It is meaningful work, and something I never take for granted.

I have spent more than 22 years as a portrait photographer, building Magic Box Photography from the beginning. My sessions are calm and unhurried. I do not force poses or expressions. I pay attention, offer gentle direction when it is helpful, and let people be themselves. The goal is honest, lasting imagery that does not feel trendy or overworked.

I have lived most of my life in Duluth, MN, and now live near Lake Nebagamon, WI. I photograph on location throughout Duluth, up the North Shore, and into northwestern Wisconsin and the southern lakeshore, as well as in fun urban settings, choosing locations that allow sessions to feel relaxed and natural.
